New meal system for hospital food service

apetito has launched an innovative frozen complete meals menu system for hospital foodservice called apetito MultiFlex.

Based on a range of specially developed recipe dishes that meet the nutrition, special diet and cost requirements of the patient food service sector, the system offers multiple methods of reheating and flexibility in use.

"The exciting new apetito MultiFlex on demand meal system will give operators an easy to implement way to provide choice to patients, enhancing patient satisfaction and reducing costs", says Brian McCafferty, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

"A bedside menu with multiple menu options can be offered to patients, with meals being cooked from frozen, on demand so eliminating waste", he continues.

Meals can be heated in a microwave oven for room service styles of service or are particularly suited to retherm carts and convection ovens for use in a more conventional plated service.

As a part of the system, apetito provides a custom china plate so that the frozen meals can easily be flipped to provide enhanced presentation.
